Global Grain Market Update | July - August 2026

Description:

Trade routes are shifting, Black Sea risks are back in focus, and Asia's demand is holding strong. Here's what buyers, traders, and exporters need to know this week:

🌾 Wheat: CWRS at $307/MT — the highest in 2+ years. Russia exports down 37.6% in July to 2.026 MMT. Egypt imports paused above $260/MT CIF. EU exports at 0.70 MMT, below year-ago levels.

🌽 Corn: Brazil corn exports hit a record 115.4 MMT (2026 forecast). Thailand set to import 200K–300K MT from the U.S. in Q4. Ukraine corn exports up 100% Y/Y to 1.2 MMT in July.

🌱 Soybean: Brazil soybean exports forecast at a record 115.4 MMT. Total export revenue (beans, meal, oil) projected at $60.6 billion. Ending stocks at 6.58 MMT.

🍚 Rice: Philippines imports surpass 3.3 million MT. NFA to procure 500K MT of local palay with a ₱20 billion budget — more than double last year's.

Market Outlook: Logistics risk is driving prices higher, supply chain diversification is critical, and volatility is creating both risk and opportunity. Strategic planning is now essential for both buyers and sellers.

💡 Global supply remains adequate — but logistics is the critical bottleneck to watch.
